Mathematics:
Junior Mathematical Genius
This inspiring course will be a great way for your junior to explore the exciting world of mathematics and develop skills to become a mathematical genius. Your child will be equipped with essential skills such as multiplication, division, fraction, statistics, and much more all through hands-on activities in the context of authentic problem solving.
Our students will participate in creative and engaging activities that will teach and reinforce the standards for the coming years and will leave this class interested, well-prepared, and energized about learning more mathematics everyday.
Physics, Chemistry, and Biology:
Smart Minds Scientists
Each week, the students will be engaged in exploring a different unit in physics, chemistry, and biology. In physics, our junior scientists will study the uses of catapults and forces that affect the flight of the mass. They will help build their own catapults and experiment with objects to launch and learn about controlled variables.
During the chemistry unit, our young scientists will use solar ovens to conduct experiments that test variables affecting the outcome solar energy has on various items. In biology, our focus will be collecting living things in our environment through the use of special "creature collectors" and study the insect's anatomy and adaptations to desert climate.
Archaeology:
Wanted: Junior Archaeologists
Join our archaeology team as you become a Smart Minds Junior Archaeologist. Here is your chance to learn how archaeologists use artifacts to learn about ancient civilizations.
You will have an opportunity to create your own civilization along with artifacts and a secret language. Be prepared to solve the mysteries of archaeology and present your findings in an oral presentation.
