Algebra Applications
This fascinating course begins by discussing how to turn words into the language of algebra. The students easily step into solving problems with equations. After a few days, they will not only be translating complex word problems into algebra, but they will appreciate using algebra in everyday life situation.
Our students will learn a variety of significantly important algebra skills including: the language of algebra, using algebra to solve real-world problems, proportions, exponents, radicals, simultaneous equations, and much more.
This class will be challenging and will definitely prepare your child for an advance algebra class in the middle school.
Physics, Chemistry, and Biology:
Science Investigations
This intriguing course will take the students on a journey into deeper, hands-on, and cognitive experience with physics, chemistry, and biology and will be filled with experiments that the students will be excited about.
In physics, our young scientists will study radiation and conduct experiments to find out what is unseen as well as visible and non-visible spectrum of light.
In chemistry, the students will become detectives as they analyze evidence left behind by "suspects" in our lab.
During the biology unit, we will explore genetic codes. Specifically, we will follow traits that are passed on by generation to generation and extract DNA from living cells.
Archaeology:
Can You Dig It!?
Students will be placed in teams of archaeologists that create their own civilizations with artifacts. Each team will use their acquired knowledge to analyze, and reconstructs the other team s artifacts and culture.
This class is a compelling topic of interest to gifted students and it provides them with challenges in terms of working as a team and solving problems on a subject they absolutely love.
