POLICIES
Registration Notification:
You will receive a registration confirmation when you make a tuition payment and submit your registration form. Please make sure to keep the information on the registration confirmation for your records.
Refund Policy:
Due to the limited enrollment and popularity of the Smart Minds programs, no refunds or credit will be issued except in case of a medical emergency which will not allow the student to continue the program. If your child must drop out of the program for medical reasons, please make a request for a refund and include a letter from your doctor. Only in the case of a medical excuse, Smart Minds will issue a refund. In that case, tuition will be refunded on a prorated basis.
Smart Minds reserves the right to cancel any classes due to the lack of enrollment. If classes at a location are cancelled due to lack of enrollment, then you will be notified by May 15th, 2020 and will receive a full refund.
Behavior Standards and Expectations:
Smart Minds Summer Academy is a rigorous program designed for gifted/talented or highly motivated students who enjoy learning. All students must be self-sufficient, respectful, and work well with teachers and other students. We provide a very positive environment for our students. However, if the program staff determines that a child interferes with the learning of other students, or presents a danger to other children, parents will be notified, and the student will be dismissed from the program with no refunds.
Medications and Medical Emergencies:
Please make sure that medications have been given prior to arrival at Smart Minds or after you pick up your child. Smart Minds staff will not be responsible for administering medications. In case of an illness, accidental injury or emergency, Smart Minds staff will contact the parents immediately. If the parents can't be reached, teachers or staff members will take any emergency medical measures deemed necessary for the care and protection of the child. This includes treatment by a physician, paramedic, and/or transfer of the child to a hospital.
Food Allergies:
All students enrolled in the program need to bring a sack lunch with them. Smart Minds is a Tree Nut-Free environment in order to provide a safe environment for all of our students with nut allergies. The parents must avoid sending any food containing peanuts, tree nuts, and nut oils to the camp. This includes food for lunches, snacks, and any class projects and celebrations involving food. If your child eats a nut product for breakfast (i.e. peanut butter on toast), please make sure his or her hands are cleaned by using wet wipes or washing with soap and water before arriving to the camp. If your child has food allergies, please mark on the application form. Smart Minds will provide a separate table at the parent’s request where the children who have been identified as having food allergies may eat their lunch.
